Well the problem doesn't so much as have to boto up off of the first
partition as trying to get NT to recognize my volume drive. I had a mirrored
and made a boot floppy for nt pointing to my mirrored drive so loading NT
was no problem, but since they had me to the fdisk I can't see the volume
drive because I guess the mbr is where the information about he volume is.

Mirrored drive (c:) ?
Some things that could help.
One
Format a floppy on another NTFS machine and copy NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM and
BOOT.INI to that floppy. Try booting from that floppy, if that works let me
know and there are some other things I can suggest to get you back to
booting from c: (if that works).
Two
Run FDISK and make sure the partition is marked active.
Three
Put the HD into another machine with NT on it and edit the boot.ini to point
to the mirrored drive, by upping the rdisk(1) to rdisk(2) in the boot.ini.
Return the drive to the server...
Four
Use your RDISK (you did make one right?) to restore the boot files. I can
not remember if this will solve the boot record dilemma you are in or not,
but it can not hurt (provided it is a current RDISK).
Five
Sue the pants off of Gateway!
