It is pretty simple Raymond. If they have a
static
IP on their mail server simply point their MX
records
to your Imail server.
theirdomain.com IN MX 10
theirmail.theirdomain.com <-- Their mail server
theirdomain.com IN MX 20 yourmail.yourdomain.com
<-- Your mail server
If they do not want the rest of the world to send
mail
directly to their server, simply remove the DNS
entry for their
server and set yours to a higher
priority.
theirdomain.com IN MX 10 yourmail.yourdomain.com
<-- Your mail server
On your Imail server do not make any entries for
their
domain in Imail Admin.
In your hosts file in /Syste,32/Drivers/Etc
put entries for the IP of their mail
server like this:
10.10.10.1 mail.domain.com
domain.com
If you have Imail set to Relay For Addresses in
SMTP
security add their mail server to these
addresses.
When mail is delivered to theirdomain.com it will
be sent to the
Imail machine. Imail will refer to the
hosts file and attempt to
send the mail to the IP listed. If their
server is offline, the message
will be held in the spool and delivery attempts
will be made as
per your settings in the SMTP section of the
Imail Control Panel.

Does anyone know hot to setup SMTP forwarding service?
Backup SMTP service (for Dedicated customers who host their own mail)
Some of my clients want this kind of setup. PLease help.
