In order to have a reverse DNS lookup for a certain ip address, do I have to
have that subnet of ips register as a FQDN. Here is my situation .When good
old Bellatlantic gave me my ip addresses I wasn't as smart on the theory of
networks as I was then. I didn't know they should have given me 255 instead
of the 50 they gave me, so when I needed more address they have me a whole
entirely different ip address barely related on another subnet I.E.
209.3.204.207=www.ccoel.org subnet 255.255.255.192 and the other one is
209.3.6.130 subnet 255.255.255.128. Now when I do a reverse lookup on the
209.3.204 one it gives me my ptr record but with the 209.3.6 one it gives
me bellatlantics pointer record. Any help from you internet geniuses.
