I am having a problem with incorrectly addressed messages sent from my
local domain to my local domain . We are using Outlook98 as our client and
if I type in a name that does not exist on our server (such as
[EMAIL PROTECTED]) Outlook returns the message with a "No
transport service provider available" error . In my experience this message
usually means that Outlook has contacted the server and the server has
refused to accept the message. I have seen Outlook return this error
message before when a server denies relay based on IP address.
Is there a way to get a typical "the user does not exist" type message for
local domains? Having the server simply refuse relay and the resultant
Outlook message is difficult to explain to end users.
I currently have a virtual host setup on 192.168.10.10, with the official
host name si.serviceintelligence.com. I than have an alias for the virtual
host set to serviceintelligence.com.
