We recently moved most of our users to web messaging versus POP clients. One
of the complaints is that web messaging is slow. The system is a PII 266
with 256 MB of RAM. CPU utilization is about 8% and memory usage is about 45
MB.
I tested replying to a message including the original message with a ">"
prefix. It took roughly 50 seconds after pressing the reply button to pull
up the next screen. I disabled the option to include the original message on
reply and it was quick. I then included the reply but took off the prefix
and it took about 25 seconds. I guess if users want to speed things up when
replying, they should disable some of these options.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on improving web messaging
performance?
Thanks,
Robert
