If you do access control then your service must be logged in using the account that is allowed access.  You can set that in the (NT) services applet.   Packet filtering is not real stable on MS Proxy 2.0.  Once it is up and running it is fine, but don't assume you have an IMAIL/Proxy integration problem until you know that packet filtering is working in general.  That being said, it is required that you define port specific filters for the proxy server if you enable packet filtering.  My experience is that nothing slower than a 200 Mhz will do packet filtering well.  Hope these thoughts were of some use to you.  -V PS this mail traveled through an MS Proxy 2.0 on it's way to you!   ----- Original Message ----- From: Simon Reeves To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 01, 1999 5:34 AM Subject: [IMail Forum] Using IMail through a proxy server: MS Proxy Server 2.0 Dear All,   I wondered whether anyone was sucessfully using IMail 5.0X through MS Proxy Server 2.0?   I have used the guide in the KB as a start point, although I have it working through the proxy, it stops working if I try to use either packet filtering or access control on the proxy server.   I think I have allowed all the correct protocol types, and have set the SMTPD32 service to run with a service account that has access though the proxy's Winsocks service (SMTP Client setting). I have also added the Credtools setting and a wspcfg.ini setting for the SMTPD32 demon in the IMail installation directory.   Would anyone be able to help me out on this one?
