I'd be interested in hearing from people running Eudora Pro 4.2 in
IMAP mode with Imail 5.07 (or earlier IMAIL versions).
In testing Eudora with Imail, I've noticed that IMAP folders take
approximately 1 second per message to open for the first time.
Other E-Mail packages do not show the same symptoms.
To make the problem a bit more perplexing, IMAP folder opening is
very fast when using Eudora with other IMAP servers like the one
from the University of Washington.
Eudora is configured to download minimal headers only.
Do you notice any slowness with the initial opening of IMAP folders
containing several messages?
If so, does the slowness occur only with the initial opening of the
folder and not subsequent ones?
Do you notice significant IMAP performance differences when on
the LAN as opposed to dialing into the internet?
