I checked his reverse DNS when I saw the
message.
All looked okay for a quick look.

Downloand the eval version of DNSExpert from www.MenAndMice.com and
see what it says about your domain.
My bet is that the other
smtp server is checking you reverse domain as a spam defense and finding that
your reverse domain is not delegated to you. Check and fix this with
your upstream ip authority.
