Yep. Sounds like Mindspring implemented their port 25 filters
again. Or you happen to hit a box that still has them on it. They
have been restricting port 25 connectivity to any servers but theirs
own on several connections points.
Try telnetting to port 25 of your companies mail server. Bet it
don't work. If I recall someone else on the list was using Mindspring
with the same problem.

Subject: [IMail Forum] sending email from Outlook Express 5
> Perhaps someone can help on this one. I have set up Windows 98 with
Outlook Express 5 at my house. Yesterday, I was receiveing AND sending
email to my accounts on my company's iMail server -- no problem. My
connection is through Mindspring. Tonight, I can still receive email from
my accounts, but when OE5 tries to send mail out, the error comes back:

'mail.sounddata.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
