I think I'd wait for a subpoena. If it's legit, then they'll have one.

You could use a text editor, such as Multi-Edit, with multiple file search
capability to search the log files for "whitehouse" to locate the messages.

If you know the approximate date(s) of the message(s), you could limit the
search by filename because the log files are named sysmmdd.txt. For example,
to search only October logs, limit the search to filenames =
/imail/spool/sys10??.txt
