On a
PC, just rename the thing with a ".eps" extension. On the Mac, first try opening
Illustrator and forcing it to open the file. If it simply can't recognize it,
try Word, or Claris works (both have eps translators). The rename trick might
work with MacOS Easy Open (OS 8.x), too. If all else fails, use Norton Disk
Editor or ResEdit to open a "good" eps file, and note the application and
filetype codes, and make these the same on the troublesome file. Should work
then.
