We just evaluated a couple of fax server solutions. I wanted to go with
GFI fax, but we couldn't get it to reliable render attachments. Most
often, we'd get a cover page but no document. GFI fax also has a
'client' that runs at the PC, again with behavorial problems.
Rightfax looked cool but was _way_ expensive.
We settled on NetSatisFAXtion from FaxBack
(http://www.netsatisfaxtion.com). For about $850, you get a two-line,
unlimted user network based fax server that interfaces very nicely with
Winfax. Another $900 adds an SMTP gateway, which is cleanly done, can
render many file formats without having the application on the server,
and has so far been fairly stable. The E-Mail gateway is easy to use
(send the document to (123)[EMAIL PROTECTED]). E-mail
compatibility was important to us because we have many Macintosh users
and we needed to deliver fax capability to them.
