Hello,

the easiest to monitor an IMail Server is the IMail Monitor Service.
Look at IMail Admin/Services/Monitor. Here you can configure the monitoring for your imail services, including an automatic restart for the services and an email alert.
(it's usefull to take another Smtpserver if you have Smtp / Queuemanager Problems, else you will get no mail :)

It's not a replacement for Serversalive, Whatsup or whatever you like. It's simple and included in IMail.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] IMAP service stopping...

Hi,

We have the same problem. IMAP service will fail for no apperent resaon, :-( a restart will always be succesfull. It will fail anywhere from a few hours after a restart up til several days after.

We are using 8.05 HF3. I have even had the logfile at debug level but they were getting too big.

I have a tool that will check several services including the IMAP service and alert me via SMS, that way I'll know within a few minutes of failure and be able to restart the service before most people realise it's down.

Subject: [IMail Forum] IMAP service stopping...

Just recently this started happening. Users with IMAP accounts not able to get mail. Checked my services & IMAP service has stopped, although nothing showing up in event viewer. Any suggestions as to why? I have set the service to restart after a failure. How could I get it to send an alert email?
Thanks-
