I've seen this caused by 2 things:
1) either SMTP Authentication is turned off,
2) the Antivirus software (usually Norton) was updated and the system needs
to be rebooted.

Just my experience.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Strange problem with 550 Messages

We have a user who is getting 550 messages (ie. receipient is not hosted,
no relay allowed).

The user is a legitimate user, the domain is configured right. He can
receive email on the account (I've seen it)
and it is coming from outside (non hosted) users. However, if he tries to
email out, he gets a 550.
It shouldn't be an ID or password issue, because he can check mail (which
requires user authentication).

Has anyone seen this? Any suggestions?

Thanks
