hello bonno, I'll add the ability to preconfigure have domain level defaults for the user webmail settings. you can also alter the templates to pull out/add items/links but don't believe you can pre-configure defaults.
Btw, I believe the new timeout period for IMail 2006 web messaging is 5 minutes - will check on it. bye for now, kg -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Bonno Bloksma Sent: Friday, November 18, 2005 1:40 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] IMail Feature Requests to Ipswitch Hi, > > In web mail, automatically save to Draft any unfinished emails in the > > compose window before timing out users session. > > > > I know, users shouldn't walk away from unfinished mail, but they do, and > > then complain about recomposing. YES PLEASE pretty PLEASE !!!!! The "relogin feature" does not seem to work in maintaining their written tekst. > Haven't heard, but hopefully timeout issues like this will not be a > problem > when under 2006 on the IIS web server. Sorry, as users almost NEVER log out but simply close the browser window the has to be a timeout mechanism. However, because the session ID is in the header any person using that computer afterwards can continue with the old session, they just have to look at the browser history. :-( So the timeout has to be low, although we have remedied the problem somewhat by putting a frame around the webmail wehereby the sessionid is not visible in the address bar when someone is reading/writing the mail. However, Windows still remembers the session id address string and makes it available via the history. Another feature request though, now that I think of it, is to have server and domain level defaults for the user webmail settings. For instance we want by default to have our staf to retain a copy of all sent mail. As far as I know there is currently no way for me to set that on by default, neither at the server, nor at the domain level. If I were to preset that for a user I would first have to create a user, then log in to their webmail and the set it via the webinterface. A lot of work we don't have time for as all accounts are created automatically when someone is entered in our system as a member of our staff. > Kevin, what does Ipswitch say about this? Kevin can you enlighten us?
