I would hope you will continue to update the previous supported version for
at least 6 months after a major version upgrade. Also in a very major
upgrade like IMail 2006 with a completely different web interface, it would
be nice to support the previous 8.x version for at least a year with
security patches.
This is how long it typically takes to evaluate, test and integrate a new
major version. It is not pleasant to be forced into a major upgrade over a
security issue because the previous version could not be patches.

Traditionally, the Messaging product line has done this but typically, for
our other product lines, Ipswitch does not. We are assessing this policy
