OK, now I'm confused! I'm sure David is extremely knowledgable on how Imail processes messages but his statement: "Not sure what all the commotion is about Declude not working with 8.2+, mxGuard works with all version of IMail since 5.x, one would assume Declude would work as well since the same IMail interfaces are used." really confuses me!

Does Imail really use this "multithreaded SMTP" engine or not?

If so does it really effect how Declude or MXGuard would process a message?

IMail hands message over to the 'delivery application' - which by default is smtp32.exe. The default smtp32.exe hands the message back to the queue manager for final processing and delivery.

When using an Add-on such as mxGuard, Declude, or the Spamc hook I've seen listed here, the same process is followed; 1) Imail hands message to add-on (configured as the delivery application), 2) The add-on or delivery application does what it needs to do to/with the Q and D file pair. Depending upon the product, the add-on might employ some form of queue management to avoid overwhelming the server, 3) Ultimately, the add-on will hand the message back over to IMail's smtp32.exe for final processing and delivery or it may delete/quarantine depending upon the product.

No matter what product is used, you've got the same hand-off of messages form imail and the same requirement to hand the message back to IMail if you wan tit delivered. Has been since Imail 5.x up to and including the current release.

Declude seems to have gone down hill rapidly since the 1.X versions... I see nothing but reports of major problems in the 2.x but less so with the 3.x versions. I do not intend to participate in the Declude fiasco, but I wonder why all the upgrading if it's not necessary. If Declude 1.82 would work fine with Imail 8.2 or 2006 it would seel like a LOT of people have been mislead.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Recent 8.2 patches do they affect 8.15?

Hello? Ipswitch? Anyone.....?
I have gateways running IMail 8.15 with Declude 1.82. Apparently I can't upgrade IMail without upgradingDeclude. I have no intention of upgrading Declude right now because my configuration is
stable and Declude 3.x is not. Is 8.15 vulnerable or not?

Not sure what all the commotion is about Declude not working with 8.2+, mxGuard works with all version of IMail since 5.x, one would assume Declude would work as well since the same IMail interfaces are used.
