We are migrating from iMail 8.11 to Exchange 2003. I
currently have 6 domains on the iMail box and I want to keep it up and running
as a secondary mail server. I read the knowledge base article; IMail - How to
use IMail as SMTP Gateway for another e-mail server but I have a question. The Exchanger server is up and running. I am going to
migrate the 6 domains over the next 30 days. For the first, I have put in the
request for a MX record with a higher priority to my ISP. If I am reading the
article correctly once all mail is flowing to the Exchange box I delete the
domain that has been moved and create an entry in the hosts file on the iMail
box and add the other mail server’s ip in the relay for list. Is it really that easy? It anything going to happen to the other domains before they
get migrated. Here is the url to the article if anyone is interested. http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19980116-DM01.htm |
