Hi Martin,
I would trust your judgment, because I know that your business depends on
unsolicited inquiries. If you decide to implement it, I would enjoy hearing
about the results! Even though I'm using Declude and Sniffer, my spam
numbers have been increasing a little and I won't be upgrading past 8.15, so
I'm interested in alternative solutions. I own SmarterMail, and will
probably switch the that sometime next year. I've recently moved to Norway
but my servers are all still in the US, so I would like to have something
that is pretty much hands-off. (I don't have a lot of accounts -- less than
300.)
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Yes, this is a bit weard. As a Ipswitch partner, i receive mails from
unknown folks asking for a quote. So, unknown people mostly are becoming
customers. Mails like that are quite "critical" to me: deal or no deal.
Don't get those statements too serious, you will find more stuff like that
on other pages further on. I think, the author has a weard kind of humor,
maybe he spend too many hours in front of his PC too ;-)
After reading more of the documentation, i think this product is quite
cool. Some parts can really extend IMail. I will test ASSP for sure.
I do not understand, why ASSP is also used to send mails. For outgoing
mails, the SMTP service from IMail could still be used. Maybe to scan
outgoing mails for viruses?

After reading some chapters of the manual, i really have to test this
free
product.
After I read some of the docs, I came to a very different conclusion. I
was
immediately turned off by the author's following statement:
"First it is unlikely (not impossible, but unusual) that you receive
critical business correspondance from someone you HAVE NEVER EMAILED
before.
I don't have a percentage, but I know that business doesn't work that
way.
Business is built on relationship, and relationship doesn't come out of
the
blue."
This is simply bizarre, not to mention more than a little arrogant. I
can't
imagine implementing a product that uses this philosophy as its
foundation,
and I can't imagine a business that would be willing to risk prospective
customer inquiries.
I must be missing something.
Bill
