Do you mean domain prep and add prep in the Active Directory sense?  This DNS server is "stand alone", no AD.  It's in a workgroup called pixel8.com, with pixel8.com as the primary DNS suffix.  That seemed to work well when we were on Windows 2000 Server.

Thanks,

did you run domain prep and add prep when you added this 03 box?

Hi Sandy,
I have an A record for ns.pixel8.com.  I'm really beginning to think this is just a bug in the interface.  If someone who uses 2003 DNS and enters their records through the MMC, could verify this, that would be great.  Maybe it's just me :(.

Sounds  like  it's the A record, not the PTR. You can manually add the
glue  record  (NS  +  IP), but that won't add the A automatically. The
results you're seeing in nslookup are from the glue, while the DNS MMC
is drilling down and looking for the A.
