Sorry. A quick follow-up

On authentication - before the crash we used relay for addresses and did not
have to set the client to authenticate.

Item 2 - I meant card driver instead "drive".

Thanks,
John C

Subject: [IMail Forum] Server problems

8.22
Declude

Yesterday the server crashed and no replacement drive was readily available.
Moved to a different machine (Dell 2400), installed 2003, Imail, Declude,
etc.

Through all of this, there have been multiple restarts and reboots.

Current 3 problems are:

1. Although SMTP security is set to Relay for Addresses, everyone in the
address group must still have the client set to authenticate to send outside
msg. (Local to local is ok without authentication.) I can almost live with
this except for having to go to 300 plus machines to set authenticate on.

2. Web mail works fine except for sending msgs. They timeout after clicking
Send Message. I am seeing some 10054 and 10060 errors. Per KB and Ipswitch
support, checked that power management and checksum off loading are off, and
newest drive is in place.

3. Web mail compose does not have attachment option. Checked browser.cap
only Mozilla there, added MSIE entries. Registry had no DWORDs under Web, so
entered the entire set found in KB article. Restart of service and even
reboot - no attach button yet.

I put in 16 hours yesterday and 5 so far today. My eyes are crossed (as is
my attitude.)

Please any suggestions.

John C
