So, when you configure IMail to use the external db, do any tables get setup and do you see the root user already there in the database? If not then IMail is not talking to the DB. How would you rate your DB skills? Did the reading get you any farther? Are you evaluating IMail or are you an owner? What OS is IMail installed on? Feel free to provide other information...
