I think you will see less people caring about false positives in terms of improperly configured mail servers. I hate AOL but I love the fact they won't accept email from people without PTR's.
Has that changed? it used to be if AOL got abuse from an IP without PTR, AOL would blacklist the IP and not whitelist it until it had a PTR.
An IP having a (single) PTR is not sufficient. The PTR domain name must have a matching A record.
