Thanks
Gordon. I have been playing around with this and if the user has the sub mailbox
already created (most of my webmail user opt to save their sent items) then it
will not bounce but if they try one that hasn't been created then it will
bounce (using the bounce option). Not sure I understand why this behavior is
allowed in the first place but I am sure there is a reason. As a test
I set up a new account called [EMAIL PROTECTED] to see if it would
end up in the new account's Inbox or my regular Tyler account Sent Items sub-box
and it ended up in the new Tyler-Sent account's Inbox. So why even attempt to
deliver to a users sub box? (questions for Ipswitch) I will play
around with John's rule suggestion.
THANKS
GUYS!!!
Tyler

In Imail Administrator, look under the general settings for the domain, there is an option called sub-mailbox creation, change the setting to either bounce or go to inbox.

Subject: [IMail Forum] mail being sent to sub mailboxHi gang, I have a user who is now getting spam sent to his Sent Items box. It is addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED]. Is there a way to prevent mail from being delivered to a sub mailbox? I will work on stopping the spam but I would like to stop mail from being directly sent to a sub mailbox if possible.
