If you go the secondary route, then you only need
to copy the registry keys to migrate general settings for the DNS
server.... or just walk through the settings and manually set them without
copying the registry settings. This can be a good exercise to review your
settings and make sure you are doing what you intend.
Or, If you'd rather copy the zone files, you
can add them that way. We typically go the route of setting up
secondary zones on the new server, pulling from the old server, then switch the
new server to primary if desired.
