I would like to see every file in the spool, how long it
has been there, the size, who it's from and who it's to. Now we just have
a summary... worthless.
Another example on the web messaging: You're viewing
a file in web messaging. In older versions you could click one button to
add the sender to your address book. With 2006.03 you can't even tell who
the message is from! Not listed unless you show headers, and then users
are lost. If they're good enough to figure out who the message actually
came from then they have to cut and paste to put into their address book.
You should show the from email address as a default, and
have an "Add to Address Book" button. Shouldn't this be basic stuff?

hi
joe,
lots
of good points!
we
are in the process of adding licensing status to the interfaces (e.g. "Trial
with 10 days remaining" or "Activated on xx date"). we also plan to
stuff the Serial Number in a new About box coming later this
year.
yes,
there are some parity issues in the web messaging and we are in the process of
addressing several of these (like the disk space indicator, link to web
calendar, login page options like "remember me").
regarding the health of the server, what type of information would you
like to see?
"it's nearly impossible to figure out what's
actually going on with the server at any given
time."
bye
for now,
kg
Overall 2006.03 has been stable, but there are still
many features missing in the webmail system. The admin interface is
not as good as the old one, and it's nearly impossible to figure out what's
actually going on with the server at any given time.
As for the activations... this has been a pain in my
side from the beginning. I've had to call, email, and beg for more
activations. Each patch, or repair install requires a new activation
on my server. I have never been successful in activating via the built
in interface... I have to use the web based offline activation. I
suppose they must use a port that I have blocked, but I don't know for
sure. There's no easy way to tell if your install is activated or
not. All in all, I'd say the activation process was reason enough not
to use Imail, but maybe others may have better experiences. So far I
bet I've been forced to activate at least 12 times... all manually, and all
but ther first two I had to beg Ipswitch to give me more.

Bruce,
If you contact our Customer Service group
they can make more activations available. By default we allow you 2 but in
most cases we can extend that.

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] 2006.03
is it safe?
Kevin,
I am in the process of moving my current
installation of IMail from our current server to a new mail server,
porting the accounts and data and then doing an update from 8.22 to
2006.4
Unfortunately, my current serial number, 001001
712945 631696 723802 499805, does not allow me to do another
installation to the new server.
Can this be adjusted to allow another
installation to the new server so I can make it live and then do the
upgrade to 2006?
Our current service agreement is:
Thanks in advance for your
assistance

hi all,
as with previous releases, we'll be demoing the upcoming IMail
2006.05 release in a few weeks - demoing all the new features completed
in the last month and taking feedback on how to improve/refine the new
features.
bye for now,
kg
More likely .05.

Hi,
[....] Oh yes, another
feature "lost" in this upgrade is the graphic display of
disk usage/available for the client. Gone. Users do not know
when they are near capacity any longer, with the exception
of using the Full Mailbox Notification. The disk usage
graphic was a very useful tool that just disappeared.
Oop, that's a feature we would realy WANT to have back.
We have a lot of students that have mailboxes near the limit.
They "constanly" need to know when they are too close to th
elimit.
Kevin, is it on the list already to be re-added?
Groetjes,
Bonno Bloksma
