Title: Connect Fail issue and resolution?

I have been having an issue with "MX Connect Fail" in my log files. I would have to reboot and it would start sending again. Well, the last time this happened, I tried using a UNC path at the run prompt, and got an error I have never seen before: "The name limit for the local computer network adapter card was exceeded". So I did a quick search and found this support article from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=319504

So I ran a netstat -a and lo and behold, there were 5000 open tcp connections to mail.indoff.com:8383…I am not sure why this was happening, but it looks as though my tcp parameters had hit a wall. I have changed nics, and have done everything everyone recommended, to no avail. I have made the registry changes (actually had to create the keys) and I will report back my findings…but it seems as though many of us may be affected by these default values and limitations that are imposed by the tcpip stack in Windows…

Have a great weekend and 4th!
