It's in an .mdb file in case people use (or decide to use in the future)
WGS. If you are using WGS, you can see your Outlook contacts in the web
client (if you synch them with the server). With 2006.1, you can also see
other user's contacts that are shared with you in the web client. We will
be adding full sharing of contacts in the web client in the future even if
you don't have WGS. Having the DB enables us to do this more efficiently
than storing the contacts in files.
What kind of changes do you need to make? Since it's an MDB, you can open
it in Access and edit the tables or use a different program that uses SQL
with the ODBC connection to the database.

Ok, for those of us who are running IMail, and not ICS, what are our
options when it comes to WGS? If it's not included with the program, why
do all the webmail contacts use a .mdb file? Further, how do we make
changes to it when we need to?
