Yes, that's the right process, and you need an empty directory as a target.
Also, be aware that the "free" space is not calculated in; if I point my
spool directory to an empty 10GB partition, my total drive space for C:
does not increase by 10GB. You can also assign a drive letter in addition
to the path.
