I have more local users reporting problems with modified subject lines. Again, there appears to be some connection to Eudora clients.
It may not just be prefixing, but complete modification. I noticed one today that was as follows: Original Subject Line: Enterprise rent a car Modified Subject Line for Reply: =?UTF-8?Q?Re=3A__Enterprise_rent_a_car?= The beginning of the modification is the same: =?UTF-8?Q? The message in question was a reply, so there's the RE. Underscores were inserted for spaces. The reply message was sent from a Eudora client. Richardson Sent: Monday, October 02, 2006 11:11 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [IMail Forum] Strange Subject Line Prefixes Hi all, I have some users reporting subject lines containing prefixed with the following information: =?UTF-8?Q?Hi?= This didn't happen on 8.22 but did start after the move to 2006.1 Standard. The messages are sometimes internal, sometimes external and are considered to be legitimate by the receiving parties. Is this something specific to Eudora users? At least one is on Eudora 5.0.2 but I haven't been able to pinpoint others yet. Eudora had been an internal standard for a number of years, but it is not widely used internally any longer. As always, some users hold on to that which is familiar. Thanks in advance for any insight.
