This is just a shot in the dark, but how many
customers are logging into your webmail at a time? What I see on
2006.1 is that the very first webmail login takes about 10-20 seconds, while the
second simultaneous login is very fast, like 8.X. What I sense is
that IIS is loading the Imail Webmail .NET IClient application and
runtime. It unloads it after an idle period after everyone has
logged out, so the next single login will take more time.
If this matches your symptoms
and usage pattern, there may be an IIS setting to keep the IClient application
preloaded, but I'm no expert here....
