Hi Matt,
Thanks for letting me know. The last I had
heard was that this was still an issue. Great to know it isn't.
So it sounds like as soon as Safari support is available in a
production release we should be ready to upgrade.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Attachment viewing issue I administrate an IMail 9.1 server with Declude and it doesn't have any known issues with SMTP AUTH whitelisting that I am aware of (it at least works most of the time). For Kevin's sake, Declude can be set to whitelist when IMail sets the flag in the Q* file showing that the sender was authenticated. I believe that this is the line that begins with "A" followed by the Mail From. It's a great piece of functionality as it saves one from needing to scan user-generated E-mail for spam. Matt Kevin Gillis wrote: Hi Darin, Yes, completely agree on the production env. Install. I was just suggesting it to see if the attachment issue may already be addressed in the upcoming release. Regarding the SA, please contact me offline. Not sure about this one - "IMail 9.x no longer passes SMTP AUTH info to Declude." Are others running into this one? Bye for now, kg -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Darin Cox Sent: Monday, October 23, 2006 09:33 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Attachment viewing issue Hi Kevin, We can't run demo products in a production environment, and just do not have time to do field testing for Ipswitch. I'm sure you can understand that we can't afford to take the risk of introducing an unstable system to our customers. Such a move could quickly drive us out of business when critical business systems, like email, are involved. Can you also comment on the unused SA problem? I just checked our accounting system and see that we purchased the SA to upgrade last Thanksgiving, but have been unable to use it due to the loss of Mac/Safari support in webmail, as well as other stability/feature problems with 9.x, most of which I believe have been resolved. If we had known, we simply would not have purchased the SA. Now it looks like our SA will expire before a usable product is available. I appreciate any input you might have on this. In answer to your #2 below, we use Declude and Sniffer. I don't know anything about this request for end-user controlled whitelists, but we do have a related issue. IMail 9.x no longer passes SMTP AUTH info to Declude. This is a very important lost feature for us, as we use that to whitelist outbound email. This ensures outbound email from our customers is not filtered for spam, but is still virus scanned. We fixed an attachment issue in 2006.2 (next release) which we can make available to try this out on our demo site to see if that addresses it. If we provided credentials, do you have exact steps that we can try to reproduce on the 2006.2 build? 2) End user controlled white-list is the top end-user request? What AS are you using today? 3) Safari support - we completed this work in 2006.2 and it's available on the demo site if anyone wants to access it. We already use their Stats which works great! Temporarily, I'm going to check out the Mailbee Bill Foresman was recommending. I love Imail 8.x. It's the web mail that lacks. We use declude for filtering which works pretty good... But does Smartermail have offer the ability for users to 'whitelist' email addresses without having to be smart enough to figure out the Imail web amil filtering? I love my users, but that's their biggest compliant. The move was near flawless and we've been extremely happy with the product. Funny thing is, we bought the Unlimited version of the software for not much more than the cost of the SA renewal we let lapse earlier this year. Every time I think we should upgrade using the license we've had for a year now someone posts something like this that makes me realize we're still better off staying with 8.x. Now the problem is that by the time 2006 is truly stable without any loss of functionality (e.g. Webmail in Safari and this attachment issue), we'll be out of our SA purchased last October. Kevin G. Do you have any input on this? This is a very, very aggravating issue and it is ridiculous that it is taking them this long to fix what I consider basic Email client functionality. I want someone from Ipswitch to acknowledge this on list and give us an estimated time of repair.
