I have recently installed a barracuda spam firewall. my imail server is mail.ncats.net 199.176.228.5 and my barracuda server is smtp.ncats.net 199.176.228.9. I have already changed my mx record to point to smtp.ncats.net.
I would like to block direct incoming mail that is not authenticated or on my network. I still have users that relay using mail.ncats.net, but I do not want to accept incoming mail from anywhere else. Basically, I want my users to be able to use may smtp server, but force everyone else to go through my barracuda. My fear is that spam could still be directed to my mail server if it ignores my mx record. Any ideas?
