OK - Thanks David,

FYI:
I have a WAN and and Internet connection, all group mail must go over the
WAN.
Imail server has it's own DNS server so that internal (group) mail is routed
correctly. Everything else is considered internet and forwarded
accordingly.

For some reason one individual's mail was bypassing the internal Imail DNS
and making requests against my "Global" DNS

I have cleared DNS and Imail cache (Off -- 30 sec -- On). in my mail server,
and all seems well.

Chris,

Check your local DNS server is allowing recursion for your mail server, it
should allow recursion for the localhost anyway but it's worth checking.
Look through your DNS server logs for any errors. This assumes for DNS is on
the mail server handling both internal and external mail.

Subject: [IMail Forum] DNS problems

Hello list

Some (not all) of my users are having difficulty sending mail internally.
Mail to internet recipients is flowing.

When I examine the logs, I can see this pattern:
20061206 010020 127.0.0.1 SMTP (1621959c02967bed) [E] failed to exec 0
xx.xx.xx.xx D:\IMail\spool\tmp9033.tmp

Where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP of my internal DNS server. I have seached the
KB, but can find no reference.

Can some kind soul tell me what the problem is?

TIA - Chris
