Hello Chakib,

When you mention the drop down menu, sounds like you are referring to the
encoding (under preferences and not the language picker on the home page).

we have a white paper on how to add new languages (
http://www.ipswitch.com/support/imail/guide/2006/2006_1/CreatingANewLangFile
.pdf ) but there's not an equivalent to add/modify the encodings. I have
added to the feature backlog.

Regarding the R to L interface, we will need to look some more into this
one. In the past we have not received many requests for this and hence it's
been a lower priority.

bye for now,

kg

Just to update regarding the Arabic encoding, I have just made an email to
test to hotmail account and the Arabic contents was showing as rabish, I
made a test email to gmail and our exchange server but it was clear and
correct, is this issue to do with encoding of the IMail being used?

I tried changing the encoding of the IE but with no success and the message
in Hotmail was not able to be corrected!

Hi Kevin;

First of all, I would like to thank you for your prompt answer to my
inquiry, it is really nice to see the IT community responding

like this. I believe I should also be helpful to other people whenever I
can.

I am looking to add Arabic encoding, it is true that it should be working
without adding, but I have customers who don't understand that,

They just requested it to be shown on that drop down menu. Is there a way to
add it for just the look, I don't even need it to be functioning

Because I don't see any need for that, I have tested the Arabic by sending
and receiving emails in Arabic and there was no problem.

So, if I just add that option to the drop down menu and make it attached to
the UTF-8 will be great, so I can finish this task.

I really also need your suggestions about the second problem, I believe that
there are other languages that use right to left alignments, and it would

Be very useful to prepare the solution for others who could be interested in
using IMail.

To explain well the problem:

When a user enters the login page, he will be able to chose either Arabic or
English language, when he chooses English then the default

Settings should be kept without any changes, but when choosing the Arabic
language, first the logon page has to be redirected from right to left (even
the scroll bar should be aligned to the left) this in HTML can be done using
(dir="rtl") and also when he is logged in into his account he should have
the alignment from right to left for all the templates. Currently the
templates show Arabic translation but it looks missy because of this
alignment problem.

Helping me in this issue would be appreciated a lot.

Regards,

Hello Chakib,

What encoding are you looking to add? 2006.2 will include Japanese and 2
different Chinese encodings, plus base64 support.

Bye for now,

kg

Dears;

1- I am looking for a way to include one more Encoding object in the
template for composing new message option drop down menu,

I have only three options (Unicode UTF-8, English (US) , western European).

Also this can be found in the Preferences of Client interface --> Sending
--> Default Message Encoding

Is it possible to add one more option to that list? If yes, please show me
the steps for that.

I have IMail 2006.1 version.

2- One more thing: I have been searching in the archive of this forum for a
solution to another customization problem,

I want my clients to chose a language and depending on that option the
interface will be directed from left to right or right to left (dir="rtl")
thing.

I found one person who asked that same question 2 years back but there was
no answer provided.

Anybody has an idea how to make that option work?
