I'm trying to install on the same box as my Imail. I already have it installed, was pretty easy using that quick start guide in the previous post. Now I'm stuck as there is no documentation that I could find saying what ports, if any, should I change since both Imail and ASSP would be on the same box. Also, Do I still need to import the users from Imail into ASSP? If there is an article that can answer these questions, I'd love to see it. Thanks Ernesto

What are the advantages of installing on same box? I planned to install on a separate one, that way if things don't work out, I can remove it & leave my mail server intact. I have an extra box I can install it on... -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matti Haack Sent: Friday, December 15, 2006 11:53 AM To: Mike Post Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Building an ASSP box... Just install ASSP on the same box as Imail Switch on all ASSP Test-Modes and you. Follow the quickstart Guide http://www.asspsmtp.org/wiki/Quick_Start_for_Win32 on the ASSP wiki. There are scripts for Imail to automatically extract Domains&Users for use with ASSP. Read the original dokumentation and the Wiki for the newer Feature. If you encounter Problems, you could use the very helpful ASSP User Mailing list Matti MP> If so, how is it working & any advice for a newbie on setting one up? It is recomendated to install it on the same machine as Imal (works great). MP> Can this run on W2k Pro or does it have to be Win2k Server? ASSP will either block the mail completely, forward it to a single Spam-Account or just add Header Information (So that Mails will be automatically put in Outlooks Spam Box) or prepend the Subject with whatever you like. All ASSP modules start in "Test mode" which will only add Header lines and will block nothing. ASSP will need some days (or weeks) to collect good and bad emails for the Basian filter. You or your users must help it during this training and send miscategorized mails back to the ASSP Spam/notspam email Address. As Assp learns good mails from the automatic whitelist, there are nearly no false Positves after the initial Training phase. Matti MP> Thanks for any advice.
