Yeah, it's always worked for *some* people. The problem is that as far back as IMail 5.x and 6.x, the `BindToIP` feature has been offered, but has not worked consistently across NICs and OS versions. We performed a slew of tests in 2000-2001 that showed that while turning off `BindToIP` worked as expected, turning it *on* was frequently ineffective with standard NICs and then-current OSs. I don't know of the outbound virtual host binding code changing prior to 9.x, but it is possible that there was an interim release with also made this feature more trustworthy prior to 9.x. Perhaps I should not have been so sweeping and should have said "... may be a fallacy if you do not have direct proof for your existing system." --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.imprimia.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
