I’m buying a license to Smartermail 4.0 very soon. $899 for an enterprise
license and it already does way more than Imail. Their version 4 is comparable
to Imail version 10 which we won’t see for 2 more years. I’ll keep the imail
server up as long as I have customers that require the odbc connection but I’m
switching everyone else to Smartermail.

Roger, We went from 8.22 to 2006.1 back in December with very few bumps. The
install is a very smooth process (unlike when 2006 was first released). Give
yourself several hours though... takes a while to play with the new settings
:-).

Subject: [IMail Forum] 8.22 to 2006 Upgrade

I've been sitting on my 2006 upgrade for a while now... mostly because
my 8.xx version is actually working well, so I didn't want to open a new
can of worms since we're just a small office & IT is only 1 of my
responsibilities.
Now I'm ready to look at installing v2006, but am curious if I can do
this as an upgrade to my 8.22 install, or I have to do a clean install
to avoid any additional bugs.
