Jim,

You should always copy the D* file first.

Also, you may want to look at a free tool we wrote to help with this
http://www.invariantsystems.com/freeutils/default.htm#movefilesimail

Move Files (Imail) - Version 1.0
A utility that will move a user defined amount of Imail messages (Q*,D*)
from a source location to a destination location on a timed interval. This
utility is very useful in the event you have an issue with your mail server
and have to move messages from the spool or Declude Proc directory so you
can restore normal mail flow. This utility will than allow you to feed those
messages back into the your spool folder or Declude proc directory in small
batches on a timed basis. Move files will move the D* file first to prevent
any message loss or out of sync issues.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Putting files back in queue...?

Had a problem that caused many many files to back up in queue... I renamed
the spool file and system is running fine.
I want to reintroduce filed to queue but I forget what order to copy the
files there... Please advise

It is copy all "Q" files then add "D" a few at a time or is it
Copy all "D" and add "Q" a few at a time?
