This problem started after we upgraded to Imail 2006.1. I think it has
to be a coincidence, but maybe not.

I have one user who is using Outlook 2003 (real thing, not OE). If he
sends an email to just one addressee, the message sends fine. The
entry shows up in the SMTP logfile and the recipient either does or
does not get the message, depending on their provider. But at least I
see that it was sent.

If the user sends to more than one addressee - doesn't matter if it's
in the To, CC or BCC fields, or a combination thereof - the message
does not get sent. Outlook thinks it has been sent. It shows up in the
user's Sent mailbox. But when I look in the SMTP logfile, there is no
entry to anybody. It never hits the Imail server.

Even bad email addresses, etc., should at least generate a hit in the
SMTP log file, right?
