I was just dealing with this issue in house. I found the same message (by Imail message #) being delivered 2 or 3 times to only one user. The logs showed only one delivery. Pinging the email server showed good response times.
I think it was a corrupted .mbx for that one user who was having the problem. I copied the .mbx and .bak file to a back up directory after stopping queue manager, pop3 and smtp services. I restarted the services. It worked fine. We will see how long it lasts...... Outlook's profiles sometimes get corrupted and as a result they don't remove some messages from the server after downloading them so they download over and over again. If you search google for Outlook duplicate E-mail, you should fine some stuff about how to fix this. Regarding PDA's and Exchange...I'm not sure why you would be required to change your mail server. While it would be nice for IMail to have a PDA ready webmail interface, every company providing services to PDA's have some method of either POP/IMAP retrieval, or you can just copy (forward with a local copy kept) messages over to the PDA accounts.
