I've installed Windows Server 2003 SP2 and the problems did not go away.

FWIW and my opinion, This is not a windows os problem nor a browser client
issue or client/server anti-virus concern.

For those that it 'apparently' works - could someone please clear there
internet explorer history and/or cookies, log back in, and let me know if
the problem is still there with the xmlload lock? I suspect it's a
cookies/forms/authentication problem - data possibly not converted to long,
etc. (I'm not the developer of the app) just trying to fix it myself for our
own users.

Also, The problem still is there with the web service failing - a lot - has
to be restarted many times and on occasion the web service had to be
manually restarted.

p.s. .. whatever happened to sending email to the list in plain text??

A handful of people have now reported that installing Windows Server 2003
SP2 solved the webmail issues.

I want to know if anyone has installed Windows Server 2003 SP2 AND the
webmail problems did not go away or got worse.
