Subject: [IMail Forum] Install an Antispam on a separate box
I need to install a new Antispam software on a different box of IMail, so
I ask you a valid AntiSpam (ASSP, SpamAssassin, ....) to manage more than
50,000 emails per day.
I have already installed ASSP on the same box of IMail but Perl hangs to
25% of CPU and blocks all SMTP connections. The test has been made on a
Dell dual XEON 2.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, about 50-60,000 emails, per day
and with about 14,000 mailboxes.
I have also done the test with ASSP with about 200 mailboxes without any
problems.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Mauro,
I don't see that you have posted this information request on any of the
ASSP mail lists or forums. I would think that a server of that size
should be able to handle 50k emails if properly configured. If you
haven't already, you should subscribe to the mailing list at
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/assp-user
to ask that question from the developer, and read its history at
https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=assp-user.
Also check out the two forums at
https://sourceforge.net/forum/?group_id=69172
and definitely check out the ASSP wiki at
http://www.asspsmtp.org/wiki/Welcome
Installing on a separate box is not a problem if your server is
overwhelmed by its other tasks, but ASSP has shown that it can block most
of the emails coming in and reduce the workload of your Imail services.
