Troy, We're running 8.22 (with the latest declude) and it's very stable for us (haven't upgraded to 2006.x yet due to the few webmail issues that we still hear about it). Let me know if you have any other questions regarding 8.22 and I'll be glad to help.

My guess is someone has a list with a bunch of these addresses in them. However 7.15 is not secure. Yes, there are a couple website that generate email thru my box, and yes I do have clients that have mailing lists, but I generally discourage them from sending their bulk through my Imail server.
