gw1.telekom.de. It certainly isn't IMail?

"Anything's possible" but I just can't imagine how or why a router or
firewall/packet filtering would be programmed to intervene in one SMTP
command, such as EHLO, esp since he must EHLO with tons of other servers.

so, EHLO fails with Imail for all 3 of us talking to gw1, but not with you
two talking to it with telnet.  Have fun this weekend, Herren Richter und
