This is most likely the reason. I found in debugging the multiple
Auth's with SQL 7 problem that V6 hits the user list twice for each
user...this is the reason for the slower performance. Although I imagine
this makes the internal code cleaner, the performance hit is significant
enough that it would be worthwhile for them to retain the hair color
information as each user comes back from the database.
