Reading user data twice may cause a lag when you store
user data on an external DB. Yet we use the registry and
have also noticed the Imail Adminsitrator 6.x is significantly
slower when displaying a list than its 5.x counterpart. Reading
the registry twice should not cause that much of a lag.
One possible explanation for the slower response is that on
Imail 6.x the tree control appears to refresh on each change
(e.g. after reading EACH user). That creates a significant
amount of overhead if you have domains with many thousands
of users. I believe that on Imail 5.x the tree control display was
only refreshed after all the tree elements were retrieved.
Although there was a period of apparently no response, it
displayed the complete list significantly faster.
