Well, "https://" implicitly specifies port 443, the standard SSL port,
so if you use the "s" along with a port specification, you may get
unexpected results. The default SSL port for IMail is 8384, so the
default URL would be http://www.domain.com:8384, but most of us switch
the regular port to 80 and the SSL port to 443, so that the SSL URL will
be https://www.domain.com. The main benefit? Easier to type and remember
the URLs. A less-often considered, but still important benefit? You'll
have a better chance of reaching users behind corporate firewalls that
block unusual port numbers.
