For what it's worth (though I don't have Ron's expertise)...
I run 100% secure web messaging, no other protocols accepted, and
this works just fine (note the "s" and the "8384")... assuming you
are using port 8384 (versus 443) for SSL:
https://www.domain.com:8384
No "unexpected results."
