I have a simple question for all you iMail gurus out there. I want to make
sure that I paint the proper picture for our Executive Staff. There is much
talk here about SPAM / VIRUSES, but just to clarify this distinction it in
my mind (and theirs)...
Is it safe to say we are looking at THREE major problems? (and solutions)
Problem 1) BULK EMAIL Outsiders using our system to rely / propogate their
spam?
Solution 1) Setup and require iMail's SMTP AUTH option for all clients.
Problem 2) SPAM Messages: The "Fruit" or Spam message itself - delivered
to our users.
Solution 2) Use IMGate, Omniquad's MailWall, etc to monitor the MAPS
Blackhole lists.
Problem 3) VIRUSES - Worms, Trojans Etc that infect user's PCs.
Solution 3) Run McAfee WebShield SMTP, Omiquad MailWall, Norton's Email
Gateway, etc.
Thanks for any clarification!
